  • Called to order 6:12 P.M. November 15, 2011

    Comments by Public – Fred Brown spoke about Allingtown Fire District.

    Approval of minutes of meeting. Motion by Commissioner Carew to put new engine proposal in Executive Session to new business also seconded by Commissioner Sweeney. Unanimous. Motion by Commissioner Sweeney to approve minutes of previous months meeting. Seconded by Commissioner Callahan. Unanimous.

    Fire Marshal’s Report – motion by Commissioner Carew, seconded by Commissioner Callahan. Unanimous

    Deputy Chief’s Report – reports for September and October, motion to approve by Commissioner Callahan, seconded by Commissioner Sweeney. Unanimous.

    Chief’s Report – Motion to accept by Commissioner Sweeney, seconded by Commissioner Carew. Unanimous.

    Commissioners Report Commissioner’s also work hard on negotiations. Excellent job done for Veteran’s Day Service. Nice job done by volunteers of Hook & Ladder.

    Unfinished Business – Chief O’Brien spoke about problems that we are having with our overall apparatus, truck committee has been doing an excellent job.

    New Business – Commissioner Carew spoke about new engine proposal for new apparatus. Motion to discuss in Executive Session, seconded by Commissioner Carew. Unanimous.

    Motion to go to Executive Session at 6:53 P.M. by Commissioner Sweeney, seconded by Commissioner Carew. Unanimous.

    Returned to Regular Session at 7:38 P.M.

    Motion by Commissioner Carew to add the bid on boilers to new business, seconded by Commissioner Sweeney. Unanimous.
    Motion by Commissioner Care to add a second engine to the order due to our aging fleet and stability of interest borrowing rates, seconded Commissioner Sweeney. Unanimous.

    Motion by Commissioner Callahan to transfer the Grade C candidate Kevin Sweeney from the EMT list to the Paramedic list, seconded by Commissioner Carew. Unanimous.

    Motion by Commissioner Carew to move forward on the replacement of the new boiler from A.R. Fonda Mechanical Services Inc. after reviewing 4 bids from different companies, seconded by Commissioner Callahan. Unanimous.

    Motion by Commissioner Callahan to adjourn at 7:51 P.M., seconded by Commissioner Carew. Unanimous.
